‘UKED!’ featured in popular US ‘Ukulele’ Magazine

Uked! – The first play-along ukulele musical is thrilled to announce that our show is featured on the Back Page of the Winter 2021 edition of popular US magazine, Ukulele.

Many thanks to Ukulele magazine editor Blair Jackson for giving our show a plug – along with Jake Shimabukuro, no less.

Uked! is the story of Karla, who is dumped on her 50th birthday by her violin-playing boyfriend, Brian. Desperate to belong and prove her musical worth, she joins a dating site and takes up the ukulele, learning that love and the ukulele have a lot in common.

Featured in our photo is our Karla (Rebecca Morton), with fellow Guildford Regional Ukulele Band (GRUBS) members, volunteer performers Barry Thompson and Kitty Skeen, during the 2019 production of Uked! at the Guildford Music Hall in Central Victoria.

Sadly, Covid cancelled plans for Libretto Productions to produce the show in Auckland, New Zealand.

However, Growling Grin Productions in Adelaide, South Australia, hopes to produce it at Goolwa Centenary Hall in 2022. Check this site for future updates.

Uplifting, poignant, funny and uniquely interactive, Uked! is the perfect show to celebrate the end of lockdown. For production inquiries:
